Artist's Fund FAQ.
Why does Portraits de Famille have a social cause?
Portraits de Famille exists to bridge fashion and art and to empower and preserve artists’ personal narratives. A social cause is the natural extension of that mission: it turns every wearable piece of collectible are into tangible support for emerging artists, ensuring our success directly fuels theirs.
Through the Artist’s Fund, we provide funding, mentorship, and visibility with transparent impact, because our brand is built on elevating artists and creating real, measurable cultural value alongside beautiful, wearable art.
Why is the winner voted by our community?
Portraits de Famille is built on transparency and shared creative vision. Inviting our famille to vote turns collectors into patrons, ensuring the grant supports a project that genuinely resonates with the people who wear our garments.
Community voting brings fairness and accountability to the process, complements our shortlist with real audience insight, and gives the selected artist immediate visibility and advocacy.
How does Portraits de Famille collect funds?
Portraits de Famille funds the Artist’s Fund directly from sales. A dedicated share of revenue from every piece—across both the Shop and the Collector’s Club—is ring‑fenced and allocated to the fund.
We maintain transparent accounting and share impact updates so you can see how your purchase becomes a grant that helps an emerging artist reach their next milestone.
How does Portraits de Famille award the fund?
Each year, Portraits de Famille opens applications and nominations to the community, for which artists submit a clear project goal. After creating a shortlist from all applications, the grant winner is selected by a community vote from our famille.
Once chosen, the grant winner is accompanied by the brand across their journey, documenting progress and publishing transparent updates.
